Anne Gomez – 1166 FCU Member Spotlight

Anne Gomez is a long standing credit union member of over 15 years. Anne found 1166FCU through an employee work fair where we had participated. The CEO at the time was Anne Marie, she participated in the fair and shared information about joining the credit union which enticed Anne Gomez into becoming a member & saving herself some money.

What was the credit union like when you first became a member?

I joined after she explained that it would help me save money. I could set up direct deposit to my checking and savings accounts, which made it easier for me to manage my money..

What are some important moments or financial milestones in your life where the credit union played a role? (first car, home, loan, savings, etc.)

In addition to my personal checking and savings accounts, I’ve purchased two cars through the credit union’s auto loans. I also have a credit card and use the online banking services most of the time.

What makes this credit union different from other financial institutions?

The staff at the credit union is very friendly. They get to know you. And, they are also really helpful. I recently needed to extend my credit limit for a one-time purchase, and all it took was a quick phone call.

What does being a member mean to you, and what has kept you a member?

Being a member means a sense of belonging. When you call, they know who you are and call you by your first name. You don’t get that personal touch from a bank.

If you had to describe the credit union in three words, what would they be?

How about three phrases: Friendly / Courteous / and they get to know you

What would you say to someone considering becoming a member today?

You need to go there! It’s better than going to a bank.

Finish this sentence: “During my time as a member, this credit union has been…”

Excellent! The credit union has done a lot for us!
