When did you first become a member of the credit union, and what originally led you to join?
I worked at the Exxon Mobil Research facility in the Blend Plant and later in Building 48, and joined in 2015. I was having issues with my bank, and a co-worker recommended the credit union. Ever since, it’s been a part of every financial purchase I’ve made.
What was the credit union like when you first became a member?
The credit union staff have always been there to help me with all aspects of my finances.
What are some important moments or financial milestones in your life where the credit union played a role? (first car, home, loan, savings, etc.)
I’ve used the credit union for my personal checking and savings accounts, auto loans, personal loans, and a credit card. I even had a business checking and savings account for a while.
What makes this credit union different from other financial institutions?
You are a human being, not a number. They are always willing to work with you. I've brought people to them, and they are always willing to help without breaking your arm (or wanting your firstborn).
What does being a member mean to you, and what has kept you a member?
Financial security. I’ve stayed because of how good they’ve been to me. I recall a time when I had just gotten a new job, and they were willing to help me get a car. As long as you have a history and are in good standing, they do what it takes to support you. I have brought three clients to them.
If you had to describe the credit union in three words, what would they be?
How about three phrases: Helpful, Friendly/Kind, and Willing to Aid and Assist
What would you say to someone considering becoming a member today?
Do it!
Finish this sentence: “During my time as a member, this credit union has been…”
A total Godsend. Truly, they’ve been right there by my side, helping me navigate every financial hurdle I’ve ever faced.
